Transforming B2B eCommerce with BigCommerce and Sage Integration
THE CHALLENGE
Stealth Group, a major player in Australia’s industrial distribution industry, were facing inefficiencies in their wholesale eCommerce operations. Their workflows relied heavily on manual data entry for order processing, invoice management, and supplier coordination, risking operational bottlenecks. This led to difficult order fulfillment, and potential errors in order and invoice records. Additionally, the absence of real-time data synchronisation between BigCommerce and Sage made it difficult to track orders accurately, causing inconsistencies between customer expectations and actual order statuses. We developed a tailored integration between BigCommerce (B2B Edition) and Sage, streamlining and automating Stealth Group’s business processes for improved efficiency and accuracy to overcome these challenges.



THE SOLUTION
The first major improvement we implemented was real-time order sync, ensuring that any order placed through BigCommerce is instantly processed and transferred to Sage. This eliminated delays and inaccuracies, allowing Stealth Group to fulfill orders faster and more efficiently.
To enhance the B2B buying experience, we implemented accounts and invoice integration. Customer accounts in BigCommerce are fully synced with Sage, giving buyers real-time access to order histories, invoice management, and flexible payment options. Customers also received automated notifications about their account status, helping them stay informed if their account was on hold and preventing potential order processing issues before they occurred.
To improve transparency and mitigate disruptions, we integrated an account hold alert system. If a customer’s account was on hold in Sage due to outstanding payments or other issues, the system prevented the order from syncing and notified the customer immediately when they logged in. This feature helped streamline credit control and ensured smoother financial management.
Supplier co-ordination also saw a major enhancement with the introduction of automated purchase orders. Whenever an order was placed through BigCommerce, Sage automatically generates a purchase order containing all relevant customer and order details. These purchase orders were instantly sent to suppliers, eliminating manual processing and improving the efficiency of Stealth Group’s supply chain management.
